Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) for Adults
The Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) program for adults with intellectual disabilities is offered by the Near North District School Board in partnership with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. While the program is hosted at Community Living North Bay, it is delivered and led entirely by the Near North District School Board.
This program focuses on building practical skills in:
- Reading and writing
- Basic math
- Money management and budgeting
- Job readiness and employment preparation
Classes are held Monday to Friday at Community Living North Bay (741 Wallace Road). Instruction is led by a qualified teacher who supports each learner’s unique goals and learning style in a supportive, inclusive environment.
