The Inclusion Support Program will have two activities for Community Living Month
- We will be providing books to each child in our program that focuses on children’s self-reliance and teaches them resilience and grit.
The books that will be given to the children are:
I’m Feeling Macaroni and Cheese
Gratitude Journal (English and French)
Mommy and Me
Resource Consultants will reach out to each family and explain the book activity. For each book, there is an explanation for how the parent can read the book and then engage with their child. Explaining the purpose and a script for the adult to use. Resource Consultants have been working with each family and supporting them with their children to build a tool-kit of self-resilience. A bookmark has been designed with helpful tips for the parents to use as a quick resource. Each book has a sticker inside that says “Gifted to you from Community Living North Bay”
- The week of September 14 – 18 the Resource Consultants will be providing each child care program we support with information for the staff on self-care and self-worth.
The kits will have a sachet of soothing chamomile Epson salts, a tip sheet on how to promote a daily self-care routine, and a positive quote.
