They are also instrumental in teaching their peers and community members about Rights and Responsibilities. The Council meets on a monthly basis to discuss and find resolutions to concerns brought to the table.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">If you have a concern, or feel one of your rights is being restricted, please contact the Advocacy Council by email at <a title=\"advocacycouncil@communitylivingnorthbay.org\" href=\"mailto:advocacycouncil@communitylivingnorthbay.org\">advocacycouncil@communitylivingnorthbay.org<\/a> or by calling\u00a0705-476-3288 ext. 0 and leave a message. One of the Advocacy Council members will be available to advocate on your behalf.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.communitylivingnorthbay.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/advocacy-council-2015.jpg\" alt=\"The Advocacy Council 2015\" width=\"1023\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The North Bay Advocacy Council meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 4:30pm.<\/strong><br \/>\nM<strong>eetings take place at 175 Chippewa Street West.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communitylivingnorthbay.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Advocacy-Newsletter-Sept_2015.pdf\">Download the Advocacy Council Newsletter (Fall 2015)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.communitylivingnorthbay.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Recipe-Books-for-Sale.pdf\">Recipe Books for Sale<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;Respect for All Campaign&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>We were pleased to have Chris Thorn attend the Advocacy Council to thank all of the Advocates for their support in the &#8220;Respect for All&#8221; campaign\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Leblond has been the media spokesperson for the last two years and has represented the Advocacy Council. Chris Thorn presented Chris Leblond with a framed copy of the newspaper write up. He also surprised Chris when he presented a framed write up from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2219\" src=\"https:\/\/www.communitylivingnorthbay.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Advocacy_Chris_and_Chris.jpg\" alt=\"Advocacy_Chris_and_Chris\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Advocacy Council started their fall season with a planning meeting.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The goals were listed by each person, and even, missing a few members, the Advocates managed to fill their year\u2019s agenda with goals to accomplish. Goals included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Invitation to a variety of Community presenters as guest speakers<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learning and practicing public speaking<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Fund Raising for attending conferences, community participation and donating<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learning about financial planning, independence, marriage<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Volunteering with community Partners<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Advocates will realize a goal from last year was to learn about voting and participate in a vote. M<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">r. Mallory, a guest speaker, gave the Advocates the information they needed to enable them to vote in an accessible atmosphere.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The North Bay Advocacy Council invites anyone interested in learning about community Rights and Responsibility to join us. The meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 4:30pm at 175 Chippewa Street West.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please note there will be no meeting during the month of December.\u00a0 The next meeting will be January 18, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The North Bay Advocacy Council helps people to advocate for their rights.
